Everything he believes in, he will eventually be abandoned by....
Brahm, Vishnu, Shive have ridden in to cleanse the world, yet again
Peals of laughter punctuating an irate conversation
waft into his room through an amorphous mirrored window
murmured babble in a peculiarly nonchalant way
unsure of why it started, or the eventual destination
In Melville's tome, the world seeks lasting solace
hoping, answers to long drawn mysteries will emerge
by perpetually seeking amongst abandoned dwellings
the curtain of books keeps the artist safe in his space
I have no way to stop the saunterers from gazing in
averting their eye with a panicked sense of relief
that pitying question on the lips of strangers
where does the life outside stop, and inside begin?
Ravi Trivedy, 2016
untempted by all the things that matter,
rejecting all the things that don't,
all tangible gifts bestowed, rejected
float above the decay below
nirvana achieved in a mind uncongested

Influenced by the mythical Pi Xiu, the 9th born son of the dragon emperor. The last emperor addresses the 8 cousins in Tiannanmen sqaure
Eventually the abyss will stare back at you.....
alarms were sounded from the top of the mountain
sounds of silence reverberate in hollow towers of babel
the neon sign blinked "abandon the hall of hope"
judgement day had come, denouement was nigh
entire populations acquiesced and departed
ghost towns left to rue former decadent glories,
and yet mostly in desolate, dystopian environments,
do children find joy in playing their innocent games
Ravi Trivedy 2016
The pure joy of existential thinking. Nothing really matters except the moment
Did god create man or man create god, in his own image??

Sliced by aspirations, and fears....
A smirky comment on the 15 minutes of fame enjoyed by today's heroes
Pablo is gored by the bull
Eventually the abyss will stare back at you....
Alexander, Mahmud, Mao, Gengiz, Josef, Adolf......the horror! the horror!
muted sounds of shuffling feet
the dirge begins down memory street
birth, innocence, sin, retribution, death, redemption
birth, innocence, sin, retribution, death, redemption
birth, innocence, sin, retribution, death, redemption
birth, innocence, sin, retribution, death, redemption

karma in circles, infinity without restraints
no escape for sinners or saints

I Am Analyzed
The best psychologists in town have mapped my mind,
none revealing answers to what makes me what I am.
Opting to bury the truth, or not appear unkind
or because, for their opinions, I don’t give a damn
The administration of hypnotic drugs seem badly timed,
affecting my clarity of thought in the subsequent exam.
The inserted gamma knife probe, exits from behind,
horrors! no signs of synapses firing are revealed in the scan.
Efforts to appear impotent, incompetent, deaf, dumb and blind,
have been diagnosed to be an elaborate sham.
Messages of hope, seen as convoluted ruses to have me maligned,
are forwarded automatically to the mental cavity titled spam.
Through music, not caring and logic, I now unwind
Watching bits of dark matter create an interstellar traffic jam.

Musings of a Wandering Minstrel
Do the best-laid plans of ants and men, really reach fruition at the top of the dung heap? Perhaps, wisdom dawns too late for the damned..........
(In the private collection of Ramon Abrol, Able Constructions)
Memories of halcyon days,
the gold sheen, at the peak of its decadence.
proclamations unto laws held sway,
and the fiefdom's subjects feigned acquiescence.
Alas, the warrior chief's hubris met its impulsive end
not in ignominy, yet neither in blazing glories.
Fame is evanescent as eras pass, and others ascend
what remains are reminiscences of untold stories.
Ravi Trivedy
Musings of a Wandering Minstrel, 2014
Some choose solitude as a soul satisfying panacea
Seek, and you shall find, the gateway to nirvana
Soothsayers and gods, scalawags and seekers, all lost in the same infinite maze. You are welcome into this world of decadence, but you will not be granted absolution, or an exit
The artist stares nonchalantly at the tranquil scenes outside his window, as nameless souls go about their balladeering, unknown lovers furtively embrace in the shadows and a mother sings a lullaby to her infant. Hooked into his quixotic ideas machine, his thoughts excised from the world, he achieves a state of serendipity

As Caesar loved me, I weep for him;
as he was fortunate, I rejoice at it; as he was
valiant, I honor him: but, as he was ambitious, I
slew him. There is tears for his love; joy for his
fortune; honor for his valor; and death for his
ambition.
